OVERVIEW

Overall the Flat Rocks project will deliver approx. 74 wind turbines over a minimum 25-year period and deliver renewable electricity to about 90,000 homes every year. The project is located in Kojonup, three hours outside of Perth. Stage 1 consists of the construction of 18 wind turbines. Subsequent stages will consist of a further 56 turbines.

Wind Turbines containing complex radius rebar pose inefficiencies off and on-site. Bestbar worked with project managers to provide a solution to the unique circular shape of the structure. Changing the circular shape to a dodecagon (a 12-sided polygon) helped us save our client money from increased manufacturing rates and higher transportation costs. In doing so, we were able to efficiently deliver reinforcement steel on site, in time.
